About Us:
With a low 1-8 teacher/student ratio our little students excel in all areas as they receive one on one attention. Our teachers are professional, soft-spoken, empathetic, nurturing, patient, and understanding adults with their Bachelor degrees and Certifications in Early Childhood Education.
Prior to opening The Little Village Schoolhouse I had personally taught in a preschool and was a social worker for 5 years. Our Preschool and Kindergarten are overflowing with happy children. There are no tears upon arrival in the morning or during the day.
Our school caters to ages 3-6 and is educationally based by using Educational and Common Core Standards. We also provide Spanish and Acro-movement classes weekly and Music classes every other week.
The children are continuously praised, applauded, spoken softly to one on one at eye level, they are guided, redirected, appreciated, respected, given patience and understanding, kept safe, they are comforted, hugged and given high 5’s … because that is what children deserve and need.
Infant/Yearling Room 6 week-18 month
The beginning of wonderful pre-school memories starts in our infant room!
Our babies and young toddlers are cared for by friendly, enthusiastic, and responsive caregivers in a calm, soothing, happy environment.
Their daily needs are addressed with smiles and frequent eye contact. Loving interaction between baby and caregiver is given during diaper changes, feedings, rest time, and playtime.
Toddler Room 18-36 months
Children in the Toddler Classroom are encouraged to try to use their words to express their needs and wants. The activities in the Toddler Classroom are developed to create learning experiences and social experiences through play, projects, and activities. They focus on solving problems encountered in exploration and play. Learning about thinking skills is a valuable aspect of our toddler rooms. Each child will gain an understanding of basic concepts and relationships. They will be able to apply knowledge to new situations. They will also be able to develop strategies for solving problems.
Our toddlers will learn by moving and doing. They will develop gross motor skills as well as fine motor skills. They will learn to coordinate their eye and hand movements as well as develop self-help skills.
