About Us:
The Schoolhouse Preschool’s mission is to provide exceptional childcare built around “The Whole Child Approach”, the developmentally appropriate learning and development practice principles, and nurturing classroom environments.
Early experiences have a strong influence on a child’s development and learning. To best support and stimulate our young learners, all classroom curriculums are based on The Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards (RIELDS). These standards outline age specific learning and development expectations for children at benchmarks: (ages 9 months, 18 months, 24 months, 36 months, 48 months, and 60 months). The standards are organized into the following 9 subgroups: Physical Health and Motor Development, Social and Emotional Development, Language Development, Literacy, Cognitive Development, Science, and Social Studies (all subgroups may not apply to every benchmark age). RIELDS are also appropriate for duel language learners and children with disabilities.

My son loves it!
We love it here! They have gone above and beyond since day one when we started there with our son at 6 months old. We were new parents and they have helped us more than we ever could realize. I can’t say enough for how amazing they have been through covid and accommodating to the parents. Communication is great and quick responses! But most importantly —— My son adores it there. He has learned so much and at 2 he was fully potty trained, knows all his colors and his classmates names. We highly recommend it!
